Who is Dr. Golerkansky?

Kaylin Golerkansky is a licensed clinical psychologist. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s in Forensic Psychology and she received a Doctorate degree in Psychology from Loma Linda University in 2021. In addition to her degrees, Kaylin is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and UCLA PEERS, a social skills program for adolescents. Kaylin’s doctoral project, much like a dissertation, was the creation of a manualized trauma treatment for adolescents who engage in self-harm behaviors and experience chronic suicidal ideation. Throughout her graduate training, Kaylin travelled the world while delivering trauma-informed treatment to children impacted by abuse, grief, loss, adoption, and natural disasters.

Kaylin completed an American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited internship at the Jewish Childcare Association, working with children and teens involved in the foster care system in the Bronx, NY. Upon completion of her PsyD, Kaylin began working in residential treatment with teens struggling with substance abuse, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. She was quickly promoted to Clinical Director, overseeing a residential facility for neurodivergent teens experiencing a mental health crisis who were also diagnosed with Autism, AD/HD, and/or Social Pragmatic Disorder.

She now works in private practice in Los Angeles, providing psychotherapy and psychological testing to children, adolescents and adults.

Through a free, 15 minute consultation, Kaylin will connect with you about what is drawing you to therapy at this time. She will assess your needs and suggest some techniques to be used in the therapeutic relationship.

Therapy sessions may include psychoeducation, assessment of symptoms, diagnosis, and processing of difficult, and potentially painful, emotions and thoughts. Therapy with Dr. Golerkansky is warm and nurturing, while gently confronting areas for potential growth.
